For Barbara, growing up in Alberta meant a lot of time spent outdoors and heading out into nature with her family. But it also meant a close connection with oil. When Barbara grandfather passed on, he directed mineral rights and royalties from oil extraction to his family.
Owning a variety of shares in oil and gas companies none of this sat well for a person who was worried about the effects of climate change and how the expansion of fossil fuel industries is contributing to it. That’s why she donates shares to Ecojustice from companies with which her values do not align.
Taking a long-term view of environmental issues, Barbara cites the need for a healthy environment not only for her grandchildren, but for generations to come. She joins thousands of other Canadians like you in defending our environment for future generations to come.
