Huda is a purposeful environmentalist with justice serving as her core value and a profound passion for driving change. Her nonprofit career began 20 years ago where she fervently campaigned to eradicate child poverty in the UK. It was here that she first witnessed the stark reality: marginalized communities, shackled by socioeconomic disparity, are disproportionately impacted by poor air and water quality. Venturing further, she then worked in the Middle East supporting refugees displaced by wars driven by the global obsession with oil and gas, witnessing firsthand the intricate web of ecological devastation it spins across continents.

She later went on to lead fundraising strategies for Canadian cancer prevention programs which highlighted the grave threat that insidious toxins lurking in our environment pose to humanity’s well-being – as well as other species. With unwavering resolve, Huda recognized that safeguarding our planet is not just an environmental imperative but a linchpin in the broader tapestry of social justice.

She joined Ecojustice in 2015 as the Director of Philanthropy and has helped Ecojustice grow and expand our ability to tackle our most environmental problems, weaving together the threads of compassion, insight, and unwavering determination demonstrated by our community of supporters to forge a brighter, more sustainable future for all.

When she’s not working to save the planet, she enjoys spending time exploring the coastal wilderness in the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations with her family, friends, and a Boston Terrier called Ivy.
