Katie is the Director of People and Culture at Ecojustice, where she leads the organization’s people strategy.

Born and raised in the prairies,  Katie moved to Vancouver to indulge in West Coast nature, initially joining a non-for profit ocean conservation organization which reaffirmed her love for the environment. She was inspired by Ecojustice’s direct action initiatives to defend nature, combat climate change, and fight for a healthy environment, and therefore, joined the Ecojustice team in 2021. Katie believes “caring about our planet begins with caring about people” and takes great pride in contributing to a work environment that enhances such care.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, a CPHR designation, as well as a SHRM-SCP designation. Her education has uniquely prepared her to incorporate behavioral principles into workplace practices.

Outside of work, you can find Katie soaking up the Pacific Northwest both in the mountains and at the beach. She also enjoys mindful meditation (particularly in nature), as well as Yoga Nidra practices.
