This Giving Tuesday, Mike Brigham is pledging to match all donations, up to $15K, in support of Ecojustice’s legal efforts to combat climate change.
My name is Mike. I’ve been an Ecojustice supporter since 2001, and l’m fired up about last week’s announcement that Ecojustice is helping a group of Ontario youth sue the Ford government for weakening Ontario’s climate targets.
Here’s my Giving Tuesday challenge: Donate to Ecojustice within the next 24 hours and I will match your donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $15,000.
I was one of more than 15,000 people who took to the streets in Toronto during the September global climate strike. The air was electric. And leading the way was a new generation of activists – young Canadians using their voices and ingenuity to demand their governments obey the science and take urgent, rapid action to fight the climate emergency.
Ecojustice is working hard to ensure governments in Canada do just that.
From backing the seven remarkable young people suing Ford with a formidable combination of legal expertise and courtroom experience to advocating for more aggressive climate targets at the federal level, Ecojustice is fighting for your right to a climate-safe future – in the courts and on Parliament Hill.
Today, you can double your impact and help Ecojustice take even more bold legal action to combat the climate crisis by making a special gift now.
As president of SolarShare Co-operative, North America’s largest renewable energy co-operative, I have seen firsthand what’s possible when passionate people work together for the good of the planet.
There is strength in numbers. Collective action is the secret sauce that’s made socially responsible investments in renewable energy more attractive and accessible than ever, stopped fossil fuel mega-projects from being built, and helped energize the climate movement.
With our support, Ecojustice’s team of experts can continue to back youth-led climate litigation and make critical legislative gains with our provincial and federal governments to ensure that climate action in Canada is backed by the full force of the law.
The clock is ticking. Limiting the impacts of climate change on our health, security, and well-being requires bold, collective action today. Join me.
Let’s do this together.
